Key Decision Maker Project

Key Decision Maker Project

Researchers and consultants affiliated with the Center for the Study of Youth Policy visited a number of states throughout the U.S. and collected data on the youth then confined in juvenile training schools and youth correctional facilities. The data were used to construct population profiles of each state's confined youth and then to calculate risk scores that ranked individual youth along a continuum from low risk to high risk. The profiles and risk analyses were presented to state officials as part of a project to consider the appropriate uses of  juvenile corrections resources.
